Archetypes and Classes

During class selection, a young man or woman will often receive specific class options relating to their experience, interests, and lineage. These class options fall under archetypes also known as a “general classes”. New Skills are gained at level 1, then 5, with subsequent skills every 5 levels.

  1. Combat Archetypes
  2. Support Archetypes
  3. Divine Archetypes
  4. Corrupted Archetypes
  5. Other Archetypes

Combat Archetypes

Mage: Those who wield the arcane to cast spells outside of themselves. Their first ten levels almost always include a control (mana-alignment) and a resistance to their specialty, notable exceptions being esoteric specialties.

Scout: Great for exploring an area, or identifying trouble before it appears. Will commonly receive identification and sight-related abilities.

Rogue: A stealth archetype that can move through the world unseen. Will commonly receive stealth, perception, and dexterity abilities.

Warrior: The physical combatant archetype. Warriors are the most likely to receive passive physical enhancements in addition to their close-combat abilities.

Support Archetypes

Healer: They are the ones who keep others alive, whether that’s in combat, or in a medical tent. Healing is rarely holistic, and healers will often have a focus in what they can treat.

Druid: An archetype attuned to nature and plant-life. Their skills will often allow them to interact with the dangers of the outside world, making peace or communicating with creatures of all types.

Crafter: Crafters lose access to professions in exchange for extreme and unique abilities related to their chosen craft. Physical enhancements are common, depending on the specific class.

Scholar: Focusing on literature or history. The scholar archetype is the most likely to receive passive mental enhancements.

Merchant: One of the few archetypes known to gain storage skills, merchants are crucial to the exchange of goods between the few surviving strongholds. Storage, appraisal, and travel skills are quite common.

Divine Archetypes

Devout: A devout archetype that increases connection with the divine or the esoteric. Devout will often receive knowledge that lies outside the grounded grasp of the scholars.

Reaper: A divine Archetype. Those who choose to become reapers can change their class to a reaper-variant, or gain a reaper exclusive class at level 1. Reaper abilities are specifically meant for killing or dealing with the various types of undead. However, with the block of the divine, their abilities can be greatly reduced.

Paladin: A divine Archetype. Those who choose to join the oathsworn orders can change their class to a paladin-variant, or gain a paladin exclusive class at level 1. Paladin abilities are designed to face the corrupt and the demonic.

Corrupted Archetypes

Necromancer: A corrupted archetype. Necromancers are capable of controlling the dead, and binding souls to their will.

Cultist: A corrupted archetype. Cultists gain power from another realm through sacrifice, and corruption.

Other Archetypes

Unique: An archetype encompassing race-specific classes. Each race has their own set of unique classes, tightly kept secrets that they kill to protect.

Explorer: One of the more unique archetypes, explorers gain a variety of skills related to survival, travel, storage, combat and knowledge.
