Mage Progression

Defined by the Mage Association, the classification of a mage is decided by how many circles of runes they can create for their magic. This system is a standardized version, and does not take into account the unique magical structures of the Southern Tribes, or the wild magic of the Eastern Jungles.

Apprentice: One circle of magic

Novice: Two concentric rings of magic

Journeyman: Three concentric magic

Mage: Four concentric rings of magic

Master/Maestra Mage: Modified runes, allowing for five or six concentric rings

High Mage: Seven to nine concentric rings

Archmage: Ten concentric rings with modified symbols

Definitions

Alignment: The shifting of mana to a specific identity, allowing for direct control of an element.

Construct Any set of runes within a geometric shape.

Spell Runes: Symbols of magic. These are different shapes than the runes used in the craft of runesmithing.

Standard Spell Circle: A standard circle of magic is made up of three runes spaced evenly within a spell-circle. Transformation/Stillness, followed by the Identity of the spell, and finalized by the Desire of the spellcaster.

Dual Casting: Two separate spell circles casted simultaneously.

Domains: A field of magic that empowers a specific alignment of mana.

Known Alternate Spellcasting Methods

Diamond Construct: Perfected by the Tombako tribe. This spell-structure is more insulated than the usual spell-circle, preventing tampering.

Pentagram Construct: A unique structure perfected by kingdoms from across the ocean. Spells casted with this method can be more complex at lower levels.

Five Rune Spell Circle: A technique where an additional Identity is added to the runes of a spell circle. This spell circle follows this structure: Transformation/Stillness, Identity and Identity, Desire

Shrouded Magic: A method in which the runes of a spell are hidden as they are cast.

Runesmithing

The drawing of rune sentence structures to create semi-permanent effects on objects and the world.

Enchanting

Channeling mana into an item or structure to permanently apply an effect.

Golem Smithing

Specialized ink that hardens into Mana Circuitry, giving movement and intelligence to objects.
